At 19 years old, it looks very bad that I'm still going out with mom?

It's just that I'm afraid to go out alone and since I look even younger and thinner, they could hurt me. and I have social anxiety because being around people makes me scared and nervous because I don't know how to defend myself. I couldn't even defend myself against the bullies at school. I'm a failure, I don't need to be told

First of all You're not a failure! I was bullied in school too mostly by girls and when I reported them to the principal I just got laughed at , because you know being a boy I was told I probably started it. I went through a lot of abuse at home when I was younger so I felt like I deserved how everyone was treating me. I started counseling and it's made a big difference in who I am today. I still suffer from bad anxiety attacks in certain situations, but I just deal with it and move on I don't let it define me as who I am as a person. I used to think I was such a weak person that was scared all the time with horrible self esteem. My uncle adopted me when I was 13 he told me about a year ago that he thought at the time because I was so bad with anxiety that he thought I would be on disability for life, not that he didn't support me he did! I guess I was just so angry at my mother and sister from all they put me through that I was determined to fight for myself and honestly I could never have done it without my uncle. Now I'm in college and yes I still have bad anxiety I just look at it as another obstacle to overcome. Believe me when I tell you their is nothing wrong with you!! You just need to sort out your feelings which a counselor can help you with. I'm not going to lie and say it happens overnight because it doesn't. It takes a lot of hard work and at times you feel like giving up but you know that there is a better way to live and you will find it. Is your mother or another family member a good support system for you? If not find one and you will get through this. Sorry for the long response. Just when I see people suffering I like to share my story so they know that it's possible to change. Good luck to you!!
