Am I wrong? or is my mom in the wrong?

My mom hired some guy to help set up a new room dresser in her room, and he came an hour before she’s was off work. When he knocked on our door, i told him that my mom should be off soon and that he should just wait for her to come home before i can let him in. it was me (22yrs) and my little brother (12yrs) at home so i didn’t like the idea of a grown man i barely knew to be in the house with two young people. However, after the telling the man that, i called my mom to tell her he was here but he was waiting outside and she got upset with me saying that i should have let him in and i told her that i was just looking out for my safely hut she didn’t care and only cared that i didn’t let him because apparently he wasn’t gonna come back for the day. she was aware he wasn’t gonna coming but told me last minute (within the hour of the man showing up) and claimed to have “forgotten” to tell me. should i have let the man in or did i do the right thing?

You did the right thing! You were not only looking out for yourself but also your little brother. I would think your mom would appreciate that. I have a younger brother and sister too, and if that were me I wouldn't let some guy I never met before in the house neither.

You should've let him because it's his job and he is from a professional company, hence it's totally safe and he would have finished everything quickly rather than kicking him for your over thinking.

I understand both sides it is a tricky situation. It is what it is. Find another guy or maybe he’ll come back when your mom’s home
