My friend is in an abusive relationship where they beat each other up and hit each other when they fight, which is often. One of them spent the night in jail last time. My friend knows it's abusive but refuses to leave I think because of the trauma bond. Should I help my friend? Or leave them to it? What can I do?
if they beat each other up is mutual abuse, you probably can't break them apart but maybe suggest this is not normal and both of them try couples therapy
You can't! Your friend needs to realize that what is happening is abuse and why they feel the need to be abused. Which is something that only they can do for themselves.
Sounds horrible situation but don't get involved especially if he or she is part of problem too. You will end up bss person for trying do the right thing
Leave her alone, cut them out of your life if possible. No good could come from associating with someone like that, and they chosen their own path.
