I’m currently dealing with a lot of grief from my past that I thought I had moved on from, but it’s come back to bite me.

I think time is the most important thing. Let yourself be sad, because if you completely switch your focus to something else you will just bottle it up and you might explode with emotions one day.
I have a few friends that passed away way too early and when I miss them I try to remember nice things we did together and it makes me feel good.
What helps? Finding the little good things and stepping "on" them as if rocks you use to cross a river. Not sure it's grief, but working through some pain and issues that just hurt the heart
