I have multiple friends who talk to me one day and are nice to me but then the next they'll pretend they don't know me, is this normal?

In high school, sure. But that's because those aren't friends. Those are teenagers trying their best to fit in, figure out who they are, and where they belong. They are too busy worrying about their selves that they aren't really concerned with you. They'd throw you under the bus in a second if it made them look good. You'll get real friends later when you're out of school.

Well, only high school and teenage friends display such a behavior. However, this is not normal.

Nope. A genuine friend would not talk to you one day and ignore you the next unless you have said or done something to upset them but they will usually tell you if they are upset with you

People have lives. They need space. Doesn’t mean they aren’t your friends anymore.

Yeah but this was all in person, like outright ignoring me and pretending they're not my friend.

Someone is probably spreading false info about you and they are choosing to believe it (usually the cause) Be blunt. Go up and ask them is everything alright.

Yeah, I've tried talking to this one person about it. First she just gave a bunch of excuses, the next time it was about her boyfriend problems, and so on. This has happened with other people but this person has been the worst by far. Like she'll have problems and just ignore me and just pretend we aren't friends around other people.

This has been going off and on, one moment we'll be really close friends, the next we're complete strangers.

Maybe there is some truth in that. Let her know you are there for her if she needs to talk. If anything it ends your friendship on a good note.
