These days I'm quite a rich man nowhere close to retirement or even passive income but right cher than the tax paying peers

Not really, learned more from my mother's family and my self education than anything else

My father was a farmer and he worked for the town operating the water treatment plant, driving a grader, street sweeper, and fixing anything that could go wrong in a town.

My mother was a janitor cleaning the schools.

I've had all kinds of jobs, but I did inherit the farm.

I just noticed the other part of the question, about parents giving something valuable. It depends on what you consider valuable, only material stuff or something else. I'm grateful for everything my parents have done for me. They worked hard for me and my sisters, to provide for us and give us education. They taught me some important values. I'm thankful for everything and find it valuable.
