Are you two in a committed and intimate relationship? That is a pretty demeaning thing to do to one that he supposedly loves. I would guess that there is something about you that makes him jealous. Often people who do this kind of thing have determined to derogate the other person. Is he rude like this in other conversations?

No he was saying that in my eyes he thinks his a 5! But I definitely think his higher so he was basically putting himself down and I was wondering what made him think that

That’s personal insecurity. Either he grows out of it or he doesn’t it. It will take sometime but should come out of it.
