It generally means he's PHYSICALLY/SEXUALLY attracted to you, but that does NOT necessarily mean he's ROMANTICALLY attracted to you. Because for men, these are two completely different, separate things, and men are sexually attracted to 20 times as many women as they're romantically attracted to.

Women almost never make or mention this vitally important distinction (that, for men, there's a HUGE difference between sexual and romantic attraction), and if they don't understand the difference, then they're going to confuse the two and end up getting used for sex by a guy who never had any intention of being in a relationship with her.

A guy who wants a serious relationship with you is going to talk in those terms - he'll talk about dating or future plans (at the very beginning, maybe only days or weeks into the future, but certainly further out than just "tonight".

A guy who is just after casual sex is going to focus the conversation on your looks, how sexy you are, and will be trying to get you alone so you can bang. There will be little if any talk about the future, because he isn't planning on having one with you.

Relationship guys also want sex, of course, and may give you a few compliments or mention something sexual to make it clear that he's not just looking for a friendship (virtually no guy ever is looking for just a friendship), but he also knows that if the two of you are in a relationship, sex will follow, so he won't be as focused on just sex, and you can pick up on that in your conversation.

It also helps to just go a little more slowly. Casual sex guys are easier to spot the longer they are made to wait in most cases.

But that aside, I think he feels the same as you do around him — comfortable. But guys are weird. But his way of affection/attraction? Just straight up ask him. It'll save you the "What if's?"
