What makes a person 'toxic' to you?

What actions or words does a 'toxic' person do or say for you to think this about them? Offer your definition in your own words. maybe even an example. Here's some examples for you perhaps.

Hmmmm. . . I guess I am a lot more lax than most folks. If a person isn't actively making their issues someone else's problem, I don't see them as toxic. There are lots of people who engage in self-destructive behaviors. But they aren't toxic to me because they are not bothering anyone else.

Toxic folks seem to actively seek out others and try to destroy their peace.

The drama magnet and the energy vampire personality types are the WORST in my experience. If you mashed both of their personality types into one person, that would be the holy grail of toxicity. I grew up around narcissists, compulsive liars, controllers, “green eyed” people, so their toxic traits aren’t hard for me to recognise and walk away from. Whereas energy vampires can take me years to notice what they’re doing to me, and drama magnets annoy the hell out of me.

There is this guy in my classroom, he was assigned to play keyboard with me in the School Olympics closing ceremony. And he was already jealous of my post but what makes the thing worse is that he's combo of everything you mentioned above except the drama magnet. He made me cry many times and I would dislike anyone with any of these characteristics.

They they have a habit of eating radioactive waste in the belief if they eat enough their skin will start glowing green like Mr. Burns.

When they behave in such a terrible way that the very thought of their presence in any situation fills you with dread! Whether it’s malignant narcissism, lying, manipulation, braggadocio, or even violence. A toxic person is someone who is poisonous to your very soul. (Or mood, happiness, existence, whatever you want to call it).

To me is someone who is always negative, someone who is never happy, who is always complaining and playing the victim. Or someone who is a manipulator and narcissistic.

I know people who are like the "Controller", the "Energy Vampire", the "Compulsive Liar" and the "Green Eyed".

A toxic person is someone who doesn't respect my space, rude or curses at me. I could not handle any sort of disrespect/toxic coming from someone

I don't always figure out people right away, but if I discover someone is toxic, I quickly try to disassociate myself from them asap!

I saw a comment that said negative people but I don’t agree with that because I can be negative towards myself sometimes but I always see the good in others and I compliment people whenever I stop feeling so shy 😂
