What is your opinion on coed dorms/coed living?

Would you stay in a coed dorm/apartment? Would you allow your child stay in one when they go off to university or would you be against it? What are the pros and cons of coed living? Are they a good idea or a bad idea? And if you lived in coed dorm/living what was your experience like?

When I was away at university I stayed in coed dorm that was built moreso like a suite/apartment (the university I went to had two buildings that offered this type of living. Everyone had their own bedroom but had to share a bathroom which had two sinks and everything else you'll need in a bathroom) and I had not only had 2 female roommates, I also had 2 male roommates (looking back might as well say 4 male roommates since 2 of the other guys practically lived there even though they had their own place). I didn't have an issue with it and did have a few guys in my room mainly for studying and hanging out. I don't think I have any downsides towards coed dorms/living, although it did get kind of weird sometimes. I do have a lot and I mean a lot of funny stories.
