The thing is she did refer me for a job and I got it. But I went through a terrible loss in my life and she was kind of rude to me following that. I see her as a fair weather friend a lot. My mom is making me feel bad for dropping her so now I don’t know if I was right.

Don't feel bad. I had to do the same things a few years back. I had a friend that was really toxic and controlling. After seeing interactions with her family and other friends I realized that she was like this with everyone. I eventually had to cut ties with her because I just did not have the energy. I think deep down she was a good person but she couldn't stop herself from make rude and insenstive comments too often. It's possible that your mom never experienced having a friend like that, so maybe she didn't know how much this freind was dragging you down.
I totally get that! Yeah this friend is never happy and she’s in a relationship now and she cheats on him. I can’t trust someone like that. It’s not aligned with my values.
Her doing something nice for you does not dismiss her being a shitty friend.
if that was the case then we would all still be friends or be in relationships with shitty people, because they have all done something nice for us at one time
Thanks so much! I agree. I’m just realizing I’m healing and growing as a person and want positive people who are kind in my life only. She has serious issues with men and a bad reputation. I want a quality man in my life and I can’t have her energy.
Do how you feel. Have your space
Yeah I just feel stupid becuase I ended up apologizing to HER. I feel like that’s how toxic people are. They make you feel bad and doubt your perception of things and then make you think you did something wrong…hence you end up apologizing.
Eh you'll get over it. Continue with your space. Dont care so much love
