I told her concerning things about a perverted family member. First she took it very casually and even used the laughing emoji. Then I had to explain more, like spell it out. This was her exact response

She said

I’m sorry babes I wouldn’t either

Then she changed topic.

Keep in mind she's in her late 20s

Mmmmm...maybe. But not necessarily. I've had friends not take certain things I said very seriously either, and I tried to overlook it. People can be selfish. Or at least, don't really know how to be very supportive in situations like hers.

You should've been like "Hey. I'm trusting you with what happened to me here and you're just switching subjects." And then see how she responded.

True.. it's happened a few times though. And I found out recently she pulled the wool over my eyes about something.

Well, if she did that then she probably isn't a very good friend.

Without more context, it's not an abnormal reaction per se, to me, it looks like the reaction of someone who has never faced or thought about this kind of concern. Which would make her, logically, unrelated, unconcerned.

Now, I find that odd to be unrelated to the topic when reaching the late 20's. She may be a bit in a bubble? Low levels of empathy as well? You could answer these questions I think, if you know her enough

she's not very helpful ir supportive. Go somewhere else for empathy and support. Maybe she's fun jn her own way.


Personally… i dont want to be around anyone like that unless it was a rare exception for her.

No i wouldn't drop her. I think she was uncomfortable talkin about it like she was reliving some childhood trauma of her own
