Trending & News I had a really good mom. She was always very supportive and kind, loving and approaching everything with trying to understand it rather than dismissing it. She's the reason I'm the person I am today, well-adjusted with a positive relationship with her. If I could be even a fraction of the woman she was at my age, I'd be an amazing person.
complete fucking opposite. i'm not going to get a divorce, i'm not going to make my kid's feelings seem invalid, i will listen (even if it's about the dumbest shit), i won't force them to like something just because "debbie's kids like those things, debbie's kids add her on facebook" etc. i will not guilt trip them. i will not take any money that THEY made. i will not make them struggle financially or mentally. i will not weigh responsibility on them just because of divorce/single parentism. i will draw a hard line between parent and friend. just because you're my parent, doesn't mean you should act like my friend... i could go on...
If I became like my parents it would be suicide for me.
I have a panic attack when I think I might become like my father.
The only person I wouldn’t mind becoming is my Nan as she was like an angel, but my parents f**k no.
Neither? Im my own man. If I was like my mom, I would be an emotional mess who let my feelings dictate everything. If I was like my father, I would be very unhappy and in a job i hate

I don't actively try to become like my parents, I just try to become what I think the best version of me is. However, just because I'm so close to them and I grew up with them, I definitely inherit a lot of their traits, personalities, and beliefs overtime, even if I wasn't specifically going for that.
I know I am like my parents in ways but I try my best not to be like them... I take things from them they did do right with me but avoid the things they did wrong with me and my siblings..
I try not to be like them by avoiding their mistakes. At the same time I embrace the good things we share in common
Try or not, both genetics 🧬 and environment, you will be Co like your parents.
I just try to be my own person, but avoid doing things that led my parents to being in the dumps
I try to be like my mother, she’s kind, caring, and supportive. I also try it be like my grandmother too. She’s the same. But I don’t really want to be like my dad. I don’t know him well either way.
I do what I want to do.
I don't care if that is similar or different to anyone.
bit of both, no one's perfect least of all parents, so you try to embody the good values
Actually, some of both. Use your parents as a foundation and build from there.
They were shitty parents so would never want to be like them
I wish I could be as a good of a person as either of my parents.
Unlike my parents, I won't fatshame my kids or allow them to say "nigga" if they are not black
The answer is No.
NOT NOT NOT become like my parents.
No. I'm not weak like them.
