my mother is really hardworking so i wanna be like her, my father i was raised by a father we are not really girly girly although my mother also has strong influence because she would come back home every year and she would be nice she tried to be really patient because she knows she will have to leave again. both of my parents are good patient people they are just good parents if i have children someday i will try to be patient too and understanding just like them but i like individuality and independence but also share.
it is complex
No human alive today is perfect: we live in a fallen world. Both of my parents were creative, each in their own way. Both were relative masters of their crafts, with several to each of their credits. I have absorbed most of both.
Typing: from my mom. Sewing machine use- both; mom for decorative and DTD repair, dad for original, functional work (paternal grandpa owned a shade and drape shop) . Eye for detail- both. Woodworking: dad, Electrical and MacGyvering solutions in the workshop: my maternal grandpa. Shorthand: mom, except I learned Gregg notehand, and she used Pitman. Keeping the books: everyday stuff, my mom. The long-term plans and tax forms, my dad. Cooking: my mom, and maternal grandma. Gardening: both, with my dad heavy into best pruning methods, and deep-diving into Latin specie names. Spending and saving wisely: both, and glad to be a literal Bohemian!
My dad was busy but he was always at my sporting events. Always, very rarely did he miss a game or event and I played football, baseball, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, powerlifting meets and boxing fights. He was there for probably 95% of them while supporting our family of 5.
I'd like to be there for my kids like that. Never miss any event
Absolute rock!
I strive to be responsible while having a good sense of humor. Both my parents taught me these things.

In general I avoid as much as possible to be and act as my parents did. I have no children, but if I had, be sure I would do everything possible to avoid them going through what my brothers and I had to go through. Let's say I learned how one should not be treated...
I hope I'm as good of a dad as my dad was. It's hard to tell because I'm 16 years older with my son than my dad was - he was 30 when I was born and I was 46 when my son was.
My dad was healthy and far fitter than I am so we did a lot of stuff like walking, cycling, tennis, soccer, etc together growing up. I lost my leg when my son was just 2, so while I can walk, for now tennis is off the cards. Maybe my son will enjoy golf...
My father is the most unselfish person I know. He made me and my siblings the center of his universe. I'm not a mother yet but want to be like him when I have kids.
My parents are both gone. Growing up I was not a big fan of their parenting style and I raised my children differently than did my parents. Yet there were still things that I did that were like my parents that I felt were important. Those things included being around for my kids, taking an active role in their lives. I got involved in Boy Scouts and in church and civic organizations because my dad did.
My parents taught me to get outside and respect nature, so I taught the same thing to my daughter.
I do not know my father but I wish I was like my mother in that I didn't have hyperacusis & could socialize normally if I wanted to.
My dad was very smart with money, while he was alive. He’s passed now, but that’s something that I hope to emulate at some stage. I admittedly spend more than I should.
I model my idea of a successful romantic relationship off of their relationship.
oh absolutely not!
In almost no ways at all.
The “almost” suggests there is at least one way, however small.
As economic providers they sacrificed
I can relate.
Work and protection of their family.
I tried to do the opposite.
Emulate their nearly unfailing BS detector.
