My brother is driving me crazy and I'm frankly quite frustrated with his behaviour considering my niece is stuck in the middle. The mother of his child and he are not together but "trying to find back together" - this has been going on/off for over a year. Every time something goes wrong, my brother calls crying - ready to pack his shit and move out of the country, doesn't show up to work and just gives shit about anything but his misery and loneliness. This happens pretty much monthly. No matter what I advice him to do - he always does the same thing, apologizes and then everything is good, for a little period.
I'm a fixer so this is hard for me but you can't fix the unfixable and I feel that this is something unfixable for me.

I would always listen in a situation like this, it may not really be worth trying too hard to give advice, at this point he has gotten advice and he probably kind of knows what he should do anyway. Just be there. JMO!
I'm honestly tired of it - he ended up calling yesterday and I told him that I'm done until he starts thinking about his child in all of this.
Give it one more try only get st it from a different angle. Maybe you are enabling him so tell him if he can't get his act together you are done helping him.
I don't think I've more angles to look at this from. I've both enabled him and told him to get his act together or I'm done. Found out yesterday that I was more done than I thought and told him so.
@potteplante I would think that is a good thing. It was driving you nuts.
Be honest and tell him
