Do you think my mom is being rude?

My mom constantly invites herself over and asks me to go do errands with her. I have another sibling who doesn’t have to take care of a home or children by themself. She never asks them. I call my mom everyday though and see her often. But she’s always expected me to do everything for her. I’d like to not have to feel guilty for taking care of my family, my home or having a life. Is she being rude?

I’ve put off taking care of my home, spending one on one time with my children and other important things just to spend time with my mom. Then she will complain my house isn’t in order. Plus when she is around she tries to make everyone conform to what she thinks. Tbh- she wasn’t a good mom when I was growing up and I don’t want my children turning out the way my brother did- a convict or like I did an abuse survivor.

No you have spoiled her and you have earned the result. If you want to have boundaries you need to enforce them.

You have allowed the behavior, it's not much different from raising kid, you also need to do your form of rebellion in the teens that sets your adult relationships with your parents. You haven't set your boundaries with your mother, your sisters has.

I’ve put taking care of my home off and doing mommy daughter things for weeks just so we can spend time with her.

When she comes…bring her to mother/daughter events…good to have three generations together…she can help you with your daughter.
You continue to clean/cook while she plays with your daughter. To me that’s a benefit.
