Am I being rude to my senior mother she's driving me crazy?

I let my 76 yr old mother live wuth me the past 6 years due to her fixed income.

she's alone all day and is very isolated. She listens to underground politics all.. Day. Long.

I'm working like 8 to 12 hrs a day and when I get home at 8 or 9pm she starts talking about negative shit happening in the world that I know about hearing it from people all day long.

I told her dozens of times I don't want to hear negative politics when I get home. But she persists.

So tonight she starts with a negative story, which her stories are 10 min long, and I say ok I give it 1 min attention then I walk away into my room and close the door. It's her tone also, it's angry and intense.

She gets mad and I hear her say that's it just close the door in my face, then boy oh boy. To herself.

Am I being rude? I'm just saving my sanity. I've said so many times I don't care I don't want to hear it when I get home.

No, you’re not being rude. It’s completely reasonable for you not to want to listen to negative talk as soon as you get home. She’s living in your house, you’re doing her a favour by letting her live with you. You don’t have to tolerate her negative talk, you have a right to walk away. If she doesn’t like it then she can find her own place to live.
