When I was in Utah, I noted that Mormons seem to enjoy alliterative names.

I won't go naming real people but for example it was quite common to have several people in a room have names like Mike Mackle, Steve Simmons, Megan Moore, Samantha Smith and Levi Larson.

I had a Mormon coworker confirm for me that it was a real thing.

I had a classmate who's name is Mike Michaels and he claims he hates his name because it sounds silly.

I feel like the parents who do that are unimaginative but I'm sure they have their valid reasons for doing so.

Mike Michaels disagrees and claims his parents were lazy.

No. But my last name is Micucci and I named my daughter Sharon. She still blames me for all the teasing she took in school. And she doesn't believe me when I tell her I didn't know. That I never put it together what the full name sounded like.
