Why do I feel like a stranger with my family? Like I don't fit in with them?

When I went to my late Uncle's house years ago for Christmas Eve I never felt wanted and always felt like an outcast, yes so sad to say but so true. When he passed away at his funeral, I took his death hard and I cried my eyes out. Yes, I love my Uncle and my Aunt too, but things happen in life and Cousins and to see the only ones left is my Aunt and Cousins. It's sad, I wish I could have spent more time with him.

That's part of the growing up process.

It's part of them learning who you are but you changing faster than than they can adjust.

And you changing tastes as you grow but your family remaining static the way that families often do.

Ah, that totally sucks. I get it. I had that happen. You continue to be you. Continue to try to teach them who you are and love them anyway when they don't learn.
