Why does my extended family treat me like an outsider?

I visited them and they seemed to be very rude for just existing. They look at me as if I’m some bad influence who takes drugs and a low life. I studied at a university and travelled the world and volunteer so I’m not sure why they look at me as if I’m a nobody. In my own country I have a lot of friends and likeable. I feel quite hurt and never want to visit again.

I’m sorry that happened to you. My wife’s side of her family - her younger sister and her husband don’t give two schits about me. The girl thinks she’s miss goody two shoes and acts like her schit doesn’t stink. She thinks she’s right and never wrong. The husband however I think he was trying to give me food poisoning because at Thanksgiving he made an Awesome turkey and we polished it off - I are most of the leftover turkey because no one wanted anymore and it was going to be thrown out if it wasn’t eaten in two days.

I asked him if he would teach me how to make it. He bought the turkey and all the other stuff even though I offered to pay for it he refused to accept it. So he taught me how to do it and he put in the meat thermometer and looked at it and said the number which it was supposed to be for internal correct cooking temperature - but I didn’t see it and he didn’t show it to me. I tasted the outside and it wasn’t as flavorful as the one he first made. So my wife decided she wanted some and she cut into it - guess what? It was still raw! Wife threw it in the oven and let it cook for more than an hour! When it came out it was fine. I was Pissed! I told her I was going to talk to him and she Defended him saying it was just mistake - I said damn girl these are the kinds of mistakes that can get you killed! Don’t you know undercooked poultry is food poisoning? She didn’t want me to have a verbal fight with him so I swallowed my anger at her and him. Good thing they left the next day. Since that day I no longer give a schit about either of them. Wish I never knew the asshole. However in the future I did confront him finally. I told him what happened and what he did. All he said was oh no…what did you do? I said wife threw it back in for another hour or so then it was safe to eat it. All he said was glad that it turned out ok. Son of a bitch never apologized! I think that was his plan - to give me food poisoning!
