That's not really how it works... It's not like someone who is a genius will mate with another genius and make a super genius. When you push the limits of your capabilities, you are on the fringe of society. Most of your mating options will be of average intelligence due to normal distribution of human intelligence. If your patient you might land someone a little above above average, but two geniuses hitting it off isn't that probable. Thus, the people with really good genes will get watered down and likely have dumber children that will get good mentoring for one over intelligent parent. They might become very knowledgeable, but will lack the capability of their father for example. When you have average to above average parents, occasionally they randomly spawn a genius an the cycle up and down through the generations continues.

Exactly, do you think the age of information is making more and more youngsters have the dillusion of being genuis?

I wouldn't put it that way. I think the problem is there is so much information and people are too lazy to find information accurately or they take whatever point of view that fits their current belief system and double down on it without actually knowing what is going on.

@Anoymous Are you talking about Gen Z’s such as @Wilmareportu? If so, I agree, but they’re the work smarter, not harder type. I have faith in Gen Z’s ambition and innovative mindsets, but they’re woke, cancel, third gender, etc is the moronic part. That’s to be expected though as every new generation always rebels against the former.

Not really. I think most older people think young folks are less capable. But that has been going on forever, so I assume people are really staying pretty much the same

Also wisdom appears stupid somehow to us when we're young that it would be asserted as such.

To a large extent wisdom is based on experience, and young people don't have that experience. Often things that seem like a really good idea, like "lets all share everything equally", turn out to fail really badly.

Nope. They may know things related to their generation that don't apply to my generation. But it works the other way around also. Plus I have knowledge through experience they haven't had yet.

My kids are smarter than I am but they had advantages I never had. I am not sure if they are actually smarter.

Absolutely not. Every generation repeats the same mistakes and learns things in different ways.
