This is a very important fact of life to know ASAP before it is too late:
People - most people - are assholes.
And they are going to be assholes because they CAN be assholes.
The power to be an asshole can be a profound rush.
And, with great power, comes great responsibility...
Unfortunately, power can corrupt absolutely and people can't help themselves but be assholes.

You have to develop a thick skin to withstand the constant barrage of comments from assholes like this person.
However, on occassion, let yourself go and snap back with something like this:
"Did you have to study for years to be such a profound asshole? Or are you a prodigy at it... sort of like 'The Mozart of Assholes'?"

I can't say that was so.
Like I said, some people are just assholes. Pure, natural assholes who say or do asshole things often with no animus whatsoever.

For instance, a lot of people with Asperger's Syndrome are like that. They have a poor sense of nonverbal communication and social context and empathy and do not inhibit themselves when they should.

Here's a classic example:
Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory and Chili. In this clip, Sheldon is a real asshole.

Now, it was never explicitly stated on the show that Sheldon has Asperger's Syndrome. However, once the actor who plays Sheldon, Jim Parsons, was told that Sheldon might have Asperger's Syndrome and discovered what it was, he said that Sheldon has all the traits of someone with Asperger's Syndrome.

People like this alienate others. They are great workers though. So, some smart tech companies will hire nerds with Asperger's Syndrome and put them together into a team. In this way, no one's feelings get hurt; in short, they don't sense each other as being an asshole.
