My uncle said Im his daughter do you think he is right?

My aunt and uncle adopted me when I was 2 but my surname is different from them I still have my own original surname someone asked him if Im his daughter he said yes Im his daughter and I heard it. Is he right to say that?

There can be a number factors, here. A couple that come to mind are:

1. If he said no to the person who asked him, he'd have to explain a lot just to have them understand the situation. So he might have just said you're his daughter to simplify the situation.

2. Often times when someone raises someone from a very early age, they do view them as a daughter or son (and vice-versa). Take adoption as an example. If seem adopted kids meet their real father or mother, and then say that their adopted parents are still more so their father or mother than their biological ones, since those who adopted them have been their family.

But it might be more accurate to say that he's your guardian, not your father.

if he adopted you then technically by law he is your father/guardian. he also probably sees you as his daughter as he has raised you.

Like he said you were his biological daughter? Because if he's your uncle then he's not your dad. But if he just said that "you're his daughter" he might have simply meant that he's accepted and is proud of his role as your paternal figure. He did raise you for most of your life after all, he probably does consider you as his daughter rather than his niece.
