Let’s be honest. Unless you are legitimately insane it’s hard not to worry about what other people think about you. It’s human nature. To a certain extent people do worry about their reputations.

But no matter how much worry about the image you out on. No matter how “nice” you are there will always be someone who dislikes you for whatever reason whether is legitimate or not.

All in all do your best to treat others well out of principle vs. “optics”. People will sense and eventually see through facetiousness. If you are an asshole then fine be an asshole. But don’t be surprised when what you put out there will eventually circle around and bite you in the ass. It might take a very long time. Sometimes decades. But when the day happens realize most people will have little sympathy for you.

I care about the opinions of people who care about me. The supportive people in my life who want me to succeed, I'll listen to their opinions and think seriously about what they say and if it fits with my vision and goals for myself.

Strangers or casual acquaintances though I don't care at all what they think.

There are moments when I do, but unless you’re an important person in my life, I’m mostly too busy/too riddled with anxiety from my other problems/having too much fun to care. You can be the kindest, most sincere, most thoughtful person in the world and there will still be people who don’t like you. You could be doing everything right and everything you’re supposed to and there’s still going to be people who’ll hate you for it. So why care about what someone who isn’t important to you thinks about you, ya know?

In terms of my looks, not so much, despite most assuming I'm gay, lol, but in terms of my character, somewhat - I go out of my way to be as nice, polite and respectful as possible, so if someone thinks I'm a dick, then it would bother me more.

Yes, and 80% of people who say otherwise are lying. Even if it's not a large chunk of your life where you're left concerned about it. There's still something that makes you worried what others will think.

General speaking, I don't care. The ONLY reason I do is because I own a business and I have clients, as a result, I have to operate as if people can't separate professional opinions from personal ones to be on the safe side.

Yes, depends on whose opinion it’s from. If it’s from my boss, or my man or my family, I’d definitely care! And try to do better if I need to work on myself.

Other people's opinions are just a perception of their own reality and a very useful tool to see from different perspectives and different realities of those around you, it would be wise to care about the perception of others in order to challenge and better your own reality, but it would also be wise not to let the perceptions of others dictate your life because it makes you their puppet and you would never be your true self if you let them.
