How to handle controlling parents who won't let you take trips?

I am a recent grad, I have money saved up and I'm applying for jobs, and will soon get my own place. I am taking the bus to see them in town. I didn't ask for permission I just told them where I am going and they caused a big scene in the house and threatened to disown me.

No I paid for my own rent my whole life. I’m staying with them temporarily while I look for employment. I just want to go out without them worrying.
