What should I do about my controlling parents?

I am 26 and still living with my parents and they won't allow me to have children now because they don't think I am ready financially or emotionally yet. I only work part time right now. They think I am too immature to have children now but they need to understand that I am an adult and they shouldn't control when I should be having children. Are they wrong for not allowing me to have children right now?

Well, as long as you are staying with your parents in their house they will continue to tell you things and to control you or at least try to control you.

It doesn't matter to them if you are 26 or older. It also does not matter if your parents are getting older or not. It also depends on the fact as in what type of parents you have, like if they are hitler like traditional type of parents or if they are modern, liberal minded and mature parents.

If they are hitler like, traditional type then they are likely to keep trying to control you irrespective of your age.

If you want your freedom and to live your life your way, the only way is to move out of your parents house.

You're not independent or financially stable, so having children now would be a mistake. You need to situate yourself first before taking on such a massive responsibility.

I guess because they will eventually take the responsibility since you haven't moved out. As an adult you have full rights to have kids but I kind of agree that you aren't responsible. You should deal things by moving out and getting a full time job so they won't complain. You will be completely independent when you move out, it's their home so their wish. You're living in their property so you can't really complain.

You are a adult and can make decisions for yourself. I had a baby way before I was financially ready to. People make to big of a deal about it. If you have a kid you will figure out how to provide for it.

I think you can't ask your parents to provide shelter to your own children. That's something you have to provide yourself.

Having a kid isn't a spur of the moment idea. Plus you need a lot of money to raise a kid. live at home right now maybe get full time and get your own place
