What are Your Plans for The Upcoming Holiday, Thanksgiving?

My wife family is mostly native americans... we'll, to be clear NA's were from China and walked across the bearing straight and got stuck over here in the USA when the ice melted (how they survived polar bears and mamoths is beyond me).. and family is mostly chinese that wandered back, on an airplane, but they wandered... and stayed.
So I'm hanging with them, very fortunate, maybe practice "speaking the tongue"... relative is hosting and we are making some potatoes and some company raised pigs so we will bring a "ham"... not sure what ham is... but it's a pig I think. There will be lots of good eats like salad, potatoes... probably a turkey although most of us don't care for it... let them roam around and eat ticks. They are lovely birds... the wild ones... like peaceful dinosaurs. Anyways, we will probably eat a "Turkey". Some interesting drinks too... herb drink, weird china stuff... but good!
So we will hang out and eat, maybe we'll all share what we are thankful for... for there is much. It is nice to have a family and large one that gets along well.
Conversataion... probably talk wampum (money), work, vacations... there's a baby, so we will be playing with him.
Too bad we don't have bow and arrows to shoot out back...
Maybe some fortune cookies but doubt it. healthy bunch... fruits and veggies.. pumpkin pie I hope... just like the Pilgrims!
I suggest you find some natives to dine with, makes it fun. that's what the Pilgrims did... they were fun. We'll... except for their outfits... I have no plans to dress up like a pilgrim... I just don't like their colors... so plain... what, they think God didn't make light and color... lol? What the heck were they thinking?
To just hang out with family
Yes hopefully they won't have any problems with it this year
Yes I know I watch the show on when they cut it down and how they shipped it
It's definitely not a holiday celebrated in my cultural circle. But I have some friends who celebrate it.
This year, I will spend this time at home, probably alone, as my youngest has plans with her friends already :D
So, nothing fancy this year.
My friends who moved recently from US to Germany invited me to join them for the dinner.
Any tips for someone who knows nothing about Thanksgiving? Should I bring some gift? A wine? Help me :)

We are hosting all our kids and some family members. We will be christening a new dining room table that we have bought last July that has not been delivered yet. We have not bought the turkeys yet but we have been having two 15 pound turkeys instead of one big 25 pounder. More leftovers and twice as many drumsticks.
Oh, I love the 2 turkeys idea!
@TrueConfection yes, my kids used to take all the good leftovers. This leaves a whole turkey for my wifecand I to feast on for the next week.
🤣🤣🤣
I love leftovers!
@TrueConfection it's the best part about Thanksgivung. So much stuff to make inches with and having turkey and gravy for supper. Then there is always mashed potatoes and vegetables left over.
How do you cook two turkeys? Do you have two ovens? In our house, to do that, we'd have to put one turkey in the oven and the other in the microwave.
@AviatorTom the oven is big enough (BARELY) to fit two birds
Have you tried calling the place you ordered from?
@TrueConfection My wife does not want me bothering them. It is being built by the Amish and they don't have a phone anyway
Ohhhhh! Ok, I agree that can't be rushed.
Well, Im waiting for a payment from a client before I make any plans. If the money comes through then we'll do it right, invite my mother and kids over pull out the fancy dishes (Avon, Red Cape Cod collection) silver and everything. My wife and I are vegetarian so we'll ask the kids or my mother to provide a meat dish for those who consume flesh. But we'll have a big feast.
I have been going to my friend's mom's house on and off for the past 15 years or so. My brother and I don't have any family left to hang out with on the holidays, so we usually go there and hang out with our friends and their family. The food always sucks, though.
Spending lots of time with the family all together for a few days. We'll cook a huge feast together, probably watch a movie, play games, go out together, and put up Christmas decorations. 💕❤
Thank you! You as well Paris 😘
With the four days off from work, my fiancee and I will start working on a dance routine for our wedding. And we will probably eat some turkey somewhere, but those arrangements have not yet been made.
@exitseven Working on a surprise dance routine to "Jump" by the Pointer Sisters. Not what anyone will be expecting from a guy close to 70 years old!
@OlderAndWiser I Had You on With Someone Else Here by Accident. Now I see Your Fiance. lol Enjoy!!! xx
I volunteer my older sister to host. So we are all going to her “new” house.
I hosted the. Past 2 years.
Go to my parent's house. My mom has a strangle lock on it. Also stop in to see my hubs family.
Probably going to my aunts. I'm not welcome at my sisters, because I believe in American freedom and am a Christian. she's a far leftist who believes a massive amount of misinformation about my beliefs. She won't just talk to me about it...
Unsure as of now. But we'll either do it at our house or one of my siblings.
I think it's our house. We bought a few pies: Apple crumble, cherry crumble, pumpkin, and banana cream pies.
Lots of cooking. Also gonna be my son's birthday 2 days before Thanksgiving
Going to spend time with the family. Wanted my boyfriend to meet them but that's a no go.
Lol I'm too in love 🥰
My plan is for my abusive boyfriend to be locked up in jail. That would be the best Thanksgiving ever, while he misses his Thanksgiving with his family because he chose to strangle me and punch me in the face.
Keep trying to find someone that can loan me what I need to keep from losing my house.
They'll pay me $33,400?
Turkey dinner at our house. Two daughters and their families will join us.
Nothing at this point. My "friend" invited me to her place for dinner but, I'm not sure yet
My boyfriend is coming home from college and I can't wait to see him!!
I'm going to eat a good meal and then I am going to take a good nap.
I’d like to deep fry a turkey again but I’m not sure what the plans are.
My stepdad and I are going over to his friends house for dinner
Probably go to Mexico with my mom and dad to visit my moms side
Afterwards I want to feel stuffed like the turkey.
I have no plans and no invitations. I will just be alone as usual.
Nothing other than packing for my winter vacation. by the way I just got my old account back
Be with my family and eat until I'm in a coma.
It's the one time I can go all out and have a food baby.
Nothing food prices are to high
I be lucky to get a pumpkin pie
Eating at a Denny alone
We would invite you if you are close by.
I have no plans because I don't celebrate it. Happy Thanksgiving in advance to everyone who celebrates it! 😊
