Is it better to be a single parent or give your child (children) a two parent household?

My boyfriend isn’t very interested in being a dad he is a narcissistic father and only wants the attention and so does his narcissistic mother when it comes to our son and he only wants to please his mother, when she isn’t around he is playing games on his phone and not spending time with our son but when his mother is around he only interacts with him around her but by only awkwardly holding him or just staring at him and not even talking or playing with him.

I mean, he’s not doing anything “wrong” per se, he just sounds immature and unready for fatherhood. He has to grow up and I don’t think he’s in the best environment to do so because his mom coddles him so much, it’s like he’s a kid himself. I don’t think it’s cause to go off and parent on your own, he’s have some impact on your kid since he’s still be in their life even co-parenting. I just think it might be a thing where he has his style and you have yours.
