How do I say no nicely?

My friend asked to stay with my husband and I today. She has to leave her current apt soon and doesn't want to stay with family. We've had our issues lately, but her and my husband already don't get along. I don't feel comfortable with her staying here. And it'd be an indeterminate amount of time until she gets back on her feet. What's a nice way to say no?

in these situations i find it hard to decide whether to be honest or tell a white lie. if it were me i’d apologize that it’s not a good time and offer to support her in other ways like help her move or something

i'd say no. say you have too much going on in your life right now to add this situation and you think it's best she stays with her family who can more easily support her.

Just ask your husband if you can blame him, I doubt he will care and then tell her that your husband isn't comfortable with the idea and you want to be supportive to your husband's decisions. Someshit like that
