will you be moving out of the town you went to high school in? it can help in general, not just because someone spread a rumor about you

just try to separate your circle from people who went to your high school. i know it's hard, since small town, but it can be possible. do you have a job? maybe making friends there is a good start.

the advice i give everyone

join a large group where everyone has a long-term common purpose and has to rely on each other to get the project done. that way you will actually get to know the people you are spending time with. that's why meeting someone in school is so good, you're all trapped there anyway, you're all doing the same thing, and eventually things happen

for me it's orchestras, 100 people for a week at a time, you meet so many people all working toward a common purpose. though i'm dating a hockey player so go figure

I didn't have friends in high school, but high school is also pretty awful sometimes. Get involved in activities outside of your school if you are able to drive or your parents can take you. For instance, if you like sports, you could join a league at the rec center instead of a school team. Meetup. com is also great and has tons of stuff. Go to school to do a good job and get good marks. Make friends anywhere else.

Outside of school you can make friends and wait for the rumor to go away after time when other rumors surface, people will forget about yours.

I'm sorry you went through this I've been bullied in school also and I know it's not a good feeling. I found that the people who took time to get to know me realized I wasn't what the other kids said I was. Maybe you can join a group of something that interests you and I bet you'll make friends. Unfortunately I can't go to another city right now I'm here for at least 6 more months and I don't know maybe people have forgotten the old things or not everyone bullies me, but I have high anxiety and I'm afraid of meeting people because I was bullied and threatened a lot in high school.

My friend was manipulating me and lying to me, I revealed the lie she told me and she got very angry about it, the next day she tried to lie to people about me and leave me alone, and she said: I will poison this school for you, you will always be alone. From this day on, she constantly told people lies about me and many people believed her
