What is your definition of unconditional love?

I saw a video online and it had me thinking.
But mine is love that you’re there for them always, You both can rely on each other in any situation, you don’t really require anything in return like just them is enough of a return. Ofc money is a factor and I can’t go dead broke for them and if I’m close I might ask for some in return. But you know what I mean lol.

So far sadly, the only type of unconditional love I've seen is from either my parents or my MATURED best friend, that accepts me for who I am with all my flaws and imperfections. Now to only get a MAN to do that who wants to marry me as well and have kids with me! Hehe.

And I think also married vows "For better or for worse", "In sickness and in health", "For richer or poorer" is a pretty good vow to make towards your significant other.

And no, not talking about abusive relationships (like why would you even get into one if you could help it). I'm talking about NORMAL ones involving NORMAL people that share the same goal of marriage, being kind, loving and supportive to one another (CARING about one another) and also, maybe having children.

I don't believe in it if we take the words literally except towards children and pets, unless we're talking about some universal hippie love for all beings on the planet including complete strangers.

My love for a woman of a sort that goes beyond a complete stranger at least comes with one condition: that I know who she truly is. I cannot have true love a woman without truth.

If we go several years into the relationship and I discover she's a completely different person than who she told me she was and who I thought I came to love, like a serial killer who kept it hidden from me all this time as a blatant example, then she has violated my condition for loving her as I now realize I have no clue who she truly is. I came to love a lie in that case.

That's really my one and only condition for intimate love between adults: that the person stays aligned with who they say they are (above all else, their values) and who they show me to be. It's the only way I can love the actual person, and not simply the mask they wear.

1000% agree on not loving a lie. It makes me so mad when someone lies to me. The first girl I dated told me she just recently got out of a relationship and said we can date soon tho. I said ok cool then the next month we were dating and soon to know after 5 months she had a boyfriend the entire time and he was angry at me as if I knew but I get it no one wants to be cheated on. But anyways honesty is a must

That usually seems to be the source of many break-ups in my experience. People can fall in love with someone that isn't who they're actually with. Another is coming into a relationship already fantasizing and expecting someone to be something they're not.

I came to grow allergic to shy women, even ones who are reasonably honest, after some bad experiences.

The problem is that the really shy ones can take such a long time to really open up about who they are and become comfortable sharing their truest side that I've had an unfortunate tendency to discover, a few months into dating, that their personality is so different from what I thought (not as unfortunate as your case where you were being blatantly lied to the whole time, but it's like they changed character completely a few months in).
