Unconditional love is based on caring, not neediness. You aren't doing things to get something in return; you are doing things because you want to do those things. Most people feel they're entitled to a reward from others for everything they do, but with unconditional love, we reward ourselves by feeling good about what we choose to do.

Understand that unconditional love doesn't mean being a doormat to be walked on. It doesn't mean needing to be needed. People who give true unconditional love appreciate others who value giving the same and won't choose to associate with those who choose to use them.

There are givers and takers in the world, and they assume they should connect with the opposite for compatibility. The ideal is two givers, though it can be confusing for them in the beginning, as they won't be able to tell who is giving and who is receiving. In time, they'll realize they are sharing. All energy given is immediately returned to them. They create a homeostasis or balance that is filled with warmth, love and fulfillment.

Love is not conditional, if I love you because... Then when that because changes then I won't love you still... Unconditional love say no matter what I will always love you. This also means that if a guys really loves a girl unconditionally and wants her to be happy then he will love her even if her happiness is with someone else other than him...

No matter life circumstances or charachter development, you continue to love this person.

Typically it's considered parent ~> child direction of love shall, ideally, be unconditional.
However, that's not true always for many parents don't have this capacity inside of themselves.

Ultimately speaking, if you're under God's mercy, only God's love is DEFINITELY and always, unconditional.

Some rare couples achieve this too. It's really insanely rare and therefore insanely precious.
It's the ideal behind the marriage wows.
"In health and sickness, in wealth and poverty, for better or for worse..."
It's the ideal but most of people don't fully live up to it.
Namely, one partner goes bankrupt and the other decides to leave. (less justified)
Or, someone does wrong things to you, abuse, cheating etc, and you aren't able to forgive them or love them anymore (far more justified).
As the ideal, it only works if both partners are respectful and loving, mature and well intended people.
But with maturity levels around nowadays... It's quite rare to see this, but when you do, it's really elevating one's heart and soul.
