I'll be glad when I'm gone- I see no benefit to being on the grid - ready to unplug and be in nature in a couple of months

I fantasize about doing it. Wife and kid though... it fucks with the dream. There is always something I get sucked into because of that. Plus she's military, and I swear she's addicted to city life.

The wife and kid part make even a camping trip sound like a dumb idea... my wife and kid that is (I know some people have a normal wife and kid). It will be riddled with problems that for some reason, I'm expected to solve everything and do everything. ... I can see it now... the cabin, then that damn Amazon van making 2 trips a day to us with random shit I have to put together and then deal with the trash. They turn roughing it into glamping.

I'll just hang out here in the basement jerking it to porn or talking shit on G@G.

I'm pretty fed up with it. The best times of my life was working at National Parks. I came back years ago but that may have been my biggest mistake to be around family. I should have stayed off grid and that's my plan for retirement. My family never gave much of a shit about me anyways and it didn't change as much as I wanted it to.
