We live far apart and generally meet once or twice a year, barring any major situations.

I could probably be fine without any of that. Spent much of my youth and adult life apart as I moved away to study at 16 and never really came home.

It is pleasant to meet though. The subtle changes in how you view them is interesting. While I understood the practicalities and circumstances around parenthood from a young age I still feel that I can better appreciate it now. Knowing how my parents must have been fumbling about trying to figure out typical parent things is rather endearing.

And of course as a working individual now I have a rather different appreciation for things like my dad driving me and my sisters to or at least from our hobbies every day after his work. A small sacrifice I now understand much better. They did good.

    I had a 22 month deployment. Didn't take R&R, so... that I guess.

I live pretty far from my parents. The longest we've been apart is about a month and a half.

Since my second parent died recently, I may soon find out. It is difficult to lose either parent, but when the second one passes, there is some kind of fundamental change in your life. You get a feeling that you are all alone in the world. It's unsettling. So how long can I bear it? I am not sure. Hopefully long enough so that I can hold out until I see them again.

    changes.
when i was 5-6 i stayed in the streets for a month so i can say i can do it if i have to.
but i wouldn't like it even for a day (only exception is if i am with my mates or girls or other relatives)

My parents disappeared out of my life when I was 12. I only saw them once more after that.

Dad died in 1999. My mum lives with me because of her health. Before that we were in different countries for a few years

Yes. Especially since I've been completely alone for the past 3 years after my aunt died.

I talk to my dad but he's passed away so, it'd kind of freak me out if he all of a sudden decided to talk back.
