Have a planned night out with my friends this weekend but I have to get car fixed, how do I tell them that I can’t go?

I have to get a part of my car replaced. I’m also trying to save and manage my spending. I have a planned night out with my friends, we decided to it a few weeks ago. Since we arranged it, my car got damaged and I need to get the part replaced. It’s getting done this week and I’ve already paid for the job.

I can definitely go out next month but I feel like id let them down by saying I can’t go as they are excited to go out. What should I do?

Just tell them your car needs repairs (by the way why do you pay for something in advance?).

Maybe they can get you with their cars, maybe you can take the bus, maybe you can meet somewhere else...

Or worst case scenario just cancel. and reshedule.

If you can still get there then do do, if not then

You can tell them truth that your car needs to be get repaired and so if anyone can pick you that would be nice like this you need not to cancel your plan.

stuff happens, regardless of how far in advanced you planned to hang out. they'll understand and it'll be just fine
