Why do people think they have 24/7 access now that we have phones/social media?

It depends on the individual. We do have pretty much 24/7 365 access to social media. Now if we have the same access to individuals is down to each person, I work a lot overseas in different timezones, so I will contact others and they will contact me at times that don’t really work for either of us, it’s just how things are, we agreed to it. Especially when I am travelling alone or doing something with risks of injury etc, I do agree regular contact etc, however only for those times. It is upto individuals to define their own contact or not contact times and rules.

It's so easy to just send a message and if it gets a response then it starts a conversation... Some people just need to resist the urge to respond.

And this also affects when people call others on the phone I had to tell the girlfriend recently not to phone someone at 9pm because it's antisocial.

I dont do social media. None of the women I've seriously dated have done social media. We've all been quite happy about it.

I did have social media for awhile but I found it to be stressful and always felt depressed looking through it.

I hated messenger as it would show others that I was on 10minutes ago so that would just make it even worse

I don't send read receipts on texts for just that reason. Just because I glanced down at something at a red light/in a meeting doesn't mean I have time to respond. If you're so micromanagey that you NEED to know when I read your message, we're not going to work out anyway. If it was time sensitive you should have called. The whole point of a text is I get to it when I get to it.
