Anyone else feel they can't tell their family anything?

I think every family has their quirks for sure. I can probably tell my family (meaning my parents) anything, but I wouldn't plan to tell them everything, I like a good separation betwen my personal life and family (in general terms, it would of course change if I married, then they would be family).

Generation differences do play a role of people being stuck in their way. I tell my family stuff and then deeply argue with them if they r being idiotic. I dont ever follow what they force me, im an adult now and i tell them off.

I do have a backbone, but that doesn't stop them from constantly bringing up the same topic over and over. I'll mention a tooth for example and they'll bitch at me to go to the dentist until I go to the dentist. Eventually they'll give up and move into something else to complain about.
