Is it normal for a 39 year-old woman (her 1st pregnancy ever) to have triplets?

That's my aunt's first pregnancy ever and natural. She had no fertility treatment done, none. She just had C-section on Sunday and delivered triplets; 2 identical girls and 1 boy. All of them healthy babies. She's still recovering at the hospital.

We don't know have any twins nor triplets in the family. Is that normal for a 39 year-old woman's first time?

Prior to this, she had no history of previous pregnancies, nor miscarriages nor abortions. She always protected herself and got married later than usual.

The very first time she decided to conceive with my political uncle, she got pregnant fast and that's the result... the triplets.

I know the older you are, the more likely you are to have twins. My friends' mom who are twins was much older when she had them (like in her late 30s or early 40s). So at her age it's more prevalent to have more than one child at a time than if she were younger according to the articles I read about getting pregnant older.

Lady - having triplets is "not normal" at any age! The odds of triplets of any kind are about 1 in 10,000. The odds of identical triplets are about 1 in 63,000.

Yeah it's rare. For a 1st pregnancy at such a later age, she beat that odd. I guess she's been blessed.

I guess she got blessed. Personally I can't imagine taking care of 3 crying babies. Hard work.

Nope. It was natural. If you go back to my post, I said no treatment was done. The first time she decided to not use protection, she got pregnant afterwards... fast.

If it helps, all the 3 babies look like exact mini versions of the dude and not much like my aunt. They all got the man's intense blue eyes and small golden hairs forming.
