Would you bail out a friend or family member if they were in jail?

My sister was locked up yesterday for failure to appear charges. Would you let them stay in there or bail them out if you could?

It depends on the situation. Absolutely if it was a minor thing and they seemed remorseful. But for something serious, it gets trickier. I'd definitely try to help them understand the consequences and maybe help with a lawyer, but bailing them out if they seemed like they might just do it again? Ugh, tough call.

I got a call in the middle of a night from a friend that got arrested for drunk driving. I had to wake up my brother because I did not have enough money so I had to get some from him. Then I went to the Police station and bailed him out of jail. He looked funny behind bars.

Actions have consequences. Some people fail to learn that. I am not about to step in and prevent them from learning that

If she wasn't going to appear she should have had good reasons.. which would mean they would release her when those reasons were explained/ proof shown. You screw yourself over you maybe should sit and have a moment to think about that. Cause and effect.

It depends what they did. If it was a robbery or violent crime, I would let them stay in jail. If it was being rude to a waiter and making offensive comments, I might bail them out.
