+1 yI don't think I would but it depends what it is. Of course I don't have a close friend that I love very much right now. I did have one close friend that I loved but she cut me out of her life without explanation after 16 years. For her - I might have been willing to face jail time but not if it meant doing something unethical. For example if we had a corrupt government that wanted to jail me for buying her food when she is starving - I would probably risk jail time for her but I would not rob a bank to help her pay the bills or kill somebody to defend her reputation if she was being slandered etc...

+1 yIf they committed a crime , i wouldn't do their time. They'd have to face the consequences of their own actions. I wouldn't have my own freedom taken away to give them theirs
But if someone i love was murdered and there was no justice , i'd seek my own kind of justice, even if it meant i went to prison for life00 Reply
+1 yI don't think I will if it's something they've done. Everyone should bear the consequences of their own actions.

Responding to your update- yeah I would absolutely do it but I generally try to avoid anything that would put me in jail
For what crime and for how long?
04 Reply- +1 y
For example, would you beat someone up if they did something horrible to your friend? Or would you cover for them/lie for them if they committed a crime? I don't know what any of the sentences would be so I can't answer that

Awesome
+1 yIt depends on what they did and how close we are.
Most likely I’ll go to jail WITH my friends because we tend to dumb shit here and there and most of the time I’m with them, either a look out or apart of it.
But if I know I have a better chance fighting the charges then them then yeah I’ll take the fall12 Reply- +1 y
That makes sense

It’s what true friends do
If my best friend were u, i would !!!

Thats retarded. If the person you care about lands you in such a situation, they didn't deserve your love in the first place. If you accept it, you're a delusional self destructive idiot who probably has so little to live for that you are pathetic enough to feel good about yourself for taking the fall for your "friend".

+1 yDepends on what it is.
You need money & want to rob someone? Emphatically, "no."
Someone hurt you? Hold my beer...11 Reply- +1 y
Yeah, that's basically what I mean
+1 yYes. If we're speaking in terms of self-defense, I'd bash another person's head in just to defend them in a situation where even the police couldn't possibly intervene on time.
10 ReplyWell, I tried to grab my drunk friend out of the police car while also being very drunk. In no time I got tackled by 4 police officers.. Yes, I spend the night in jail..

+1 yIs that Barney Stinson? Lol going to jail for your best friend is the dream. Seriously I would apparently jail is awesome and he fucking loves jail according to Ricky from trailer park boys. I would go to jail for my girl apparently guys in jail are hot and I will get way stronger and ripped.

+1 yNope I doubt it it’s not my shit to deal with. If they did the crime then they do the crime. I know media like glamorizing it but it’s probably a lot worse than that prison break included.
10 ReplyI would. He wouldn’t want me to though. If it had to happen in order to keep my family safe I would without question.
10 ReplyWill raise hell for them, done it b4 & will do it again without blinking

+1 yYeah for my loved ones I would do terrible things if anyone hurt them. So in answer to your question jail is a maybe only if I got caught. If you aren't willing to anything for your loved ones then you don't love them enough

+1 yNot out of solidarity and for petty stuff. Also not where it touches the '10 commandments' (not religiously, but regarding the real severe transgressions). In the remaining grey-zone I may take chances. Tax, Immigration, traffic, and such)
00 Reply It would depend on the situation.. And who its for family yeah I'll go down for.. but anything life I would expect them to come forward and cop to they own shit.. now Friend's they already know you did it you go down... and as for my significant other everything and anything so long as it was for us or to help us yeah
00 ReplyBest friend, no. Wife, maybe. I might be willing to risk going to jail to protect both, but if going to jail is a guarantee, maybe only my wife could warrant such a sacrifice.
00 ReplyI'd defend my friend but still if he has done something horrible then I won't be able to defend him I'll be at a disadvantage and also he'll need to take responsibility for his crime and if it isn't then why not?

+1 yI really don't like the idea of breaking the law. I would only do it if I was totally forced and had no other choice.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yDepends. Like my sister did 2 months for her husband but then his job required a clean record and if she didn't they'd have no money. Plus although he committed the crime she was more than willing to reap the benefits.

+1 yDepends on the situation mostly but if it was a weekend or maybe a month in jail I probably do it any longer than that it would have to be a very interesting situation for me to consider taking that punishment.
00 ReplyNope, I’m good! lol they can continue being a dumbass smh

00 ReplyNope. The only thing we bring from birth is freedom. Thats something I could never give up not even for the pope

10 Reply307 opinions shared on Relationships topic. For my best friend I'd absolutely do anything to protect her even if I went to jail for it.
10 Reply451 opinions shared on Relationships topic. That sounds irrational. I'll come up with something legal and better if it's justifiable.
00 ReplyIf I truly cared or loved the person I was with I would go to jail for her I would do anything I could to protect my significant other

+1 yIf my best friend did something purposely like with consciously then i would try help but not get in a jail while if my best friend did something for a genuine reason , or something unconsciously i would volunteer myself to jail
01 Reply- +1 y
And may i ask something else if its our best friend then they shouldn't be expecting us to be in jail right? Like can ask for help, but asking us to be in jail for them is kind of rude and i am 100 percent sure i won't ask my best friend to take up my trouble fully.
+1 yNo leave that stuff for family or your kids if u have em.
00 ReplyI wouldn't stand up for someone else if it would land me in jail. I would help them get out the situation that demands that.

+1 yIll do it for my boyfriend. Not for fake friends etc.
But honestly. I doub he would do it for me.02 Reply- +1 y
And in that case when you're not sure if he'd do same for you, you should not risk yourself for him either..
- +1 y
When you are in love. You do things because you want to do them, not because the other person forces you to do it.
But I doub he would do something like that because he believes in Peace and I never saw him angry or things like that while Im more fierce.
Not really. Reminds me on that bitch here on GAG who told a story about her lover who went in prison for her without doing anything.

+1 yYes. I'd do anything for him.
10 Replyyeah. though that would require me to get caught.

I would have no qualms about that. I was ready to put my best friends "friend" 6' under for trying to threaten my best friend. he bitched out and never showed. I gave him my address and told him to come beat me since that was what he wanted to do and I told him to be ready to go to the morgue cause I would rip his bitch ass limb from limb and drench the ground with his blood. that may have been a bit much now I think about it.
- +1 y
Sounds like you get shit done...

In that case, you're my kinda guy. The nuttier the better ;)

I wasn't kidding or making fun of you either. I can usually tell which people have a method to their madness and if they explain their reasons I can get with that, even if their actions look extreme to the outside
NO. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
