Are we toxic or is she just inefficient?

This young women started working here so far for two days. (Warehouse Production) She’s slow when folding papers. We gossip, and laugh at her she’s slow and makes mistakes. We are all constantly staring at her for the entire shift and during breaks.

I started working as a mail man a few years ago, a workplace with predominantly older men.

And I must say it is the most toxic collegiate atmosphere I have ever encountered. They are okay, but I got treated real bad by a couple of guys who felt threatened by my arrival, somehow, the guy who was supposed to show me the ropes couldn't be bothered to explain things properly, my team leader was clearly unhappy with the role and seemed annoyed when I asked him anything, and on top of that, a younger woman who was a bit slower got bad-mouthed and bullied to an extent. And lots of casual sexism.

It wasn't all bad, they did try to help the woman, and one of the guys made me feel welcome.

But overall, I do think maybe there is a generational gap where some older employees are tough as nails but also frankly not very compassionate towards other people.
