Is this enough for a casual friend?

My new friend *Zach* is having a birthday. I’m buying him a gift. He said he likes Lindt white chocolate. Lindt does a great big bar of white chocolate. I was thinking of getting just that and a birthday card that all of our friends write in. Is this enough? Or should I add something else, like a scented candle or something? I’m pretty hard up right now for cash.

Hey girl, I think just the big chocolate bar and card with friend messages is totally enough for a casual friend's b-day gift!

Guys usually aren't too fussy - Zach will probs be stoked you even remembered his special day! A fancy candle might be overkill since you've only just started hanging.

As long as the size and quality of the chocolate bar makes it clear you put thought into it, I'm sure he'll love it. And who doesn't enjoy a card filled with well-wishes, right?

Def save your cash sis, you did good going with a tasty treat he'll enjoy. Keep it simple - he'll be grateful you made an effort at all! Don't sweat it, I'm sure he'll be pumped. You got this girl!

You are fine with a bar of Lindt chocolate. They are quality Swiss chocolates. Having the birthday card signed by all of your friends is a token of appreciation because you took the time to circulate the card around to have everyone sign it.

That means that you went out of your way to make sure that everyone was involved in a way or another. You know, it is not the size of the present that matters but the fact that, despite being on a budget, you invested the little funds you have at your disposition and that you made sure that all the friends were involved by signing the card.

Those things are worth more than an expensive present you bought just because you could.
