Is it okay to say that I dont want to teach anymore?

My aunt wanted me to teach my cousins how to cook. She works full time and I am at home these days. I like hanging out with kids so I said okay but it doesn't go as I planned. They get distracted easily, kitchen becomes a mess and handling two kids is not easy at all. I don't want to teach them how to cook anymore. Is it okay to say that?

However i wonder what did you expect how cooking with kids would work out, offcourse the kitchen becomes a mess, it also becomes a mess when cooking with adults, but thats fine, just teach them to clean up as well.

Yes, you tried and they didn’t want to listen , so you have every right to give up trying to teach them things , if they don’t want to learn , they don’t want to learn , just be honest with your Aunt that you tried but they aren’t listening to you so you are no longer going to try to teach them, find someone else

You do not say how old the cousins are, but I would not make fuss about it, just do not offer to teach them how to cook, but if they ask do something then do something that is quick to do and easy to clean up after, chocolate crispies for instance.

I started to learn to cook at my grandmothers knee around the age of 5, and I always knew that if I wanted to cook I had to clean up afterwards.

No one can make you do anything you don't want to do. I mean you are paying rent, you got your own job etc

Of course, they obviously aren't old enough to care or pay attention. They can learn when they are older
