My boyfriend and I got together a few weeks ago after dating for a while. He has a casual event where he would play games with his friends and his parents would be there, everybody would eat and play. His mom will be making food (lunch, dinner, and desserts). It's a pretty casual event that they usually do a few times a year.
What can I bring to meet his parents? I was thinking a nice box of chocolates? Small basket of hand care products (soap, hand cream)? But I'm particular with hands since I'm allergic to some soaps, I can understand if this might not be a good idea unless I know the person well.
I've been suggested flowers, but I'm not sure if it would be too formal? 🤔 The person that suggested knew it's a casual event, so I'm trusting their idea, but bouquet or pot of plant type of flowers?
What other ideas? Thank you so much for your help.

bring some drinks
Bring a dessert.
I thought about that too, but my boyfriend's mom will be making desserts. Would it be stepping on her toes to bring another? 🤔
