Whether boyfriend or friend if you communicate very clearly that you just want comforting without anything else then - if you know eachother well - they should be fine with it. Although yes they may be tempted at more. But they should still respect you enough to control themselves.

I cuddled with a past ex recently. It was nice. But didn't compare to the intimacy level I really craved and was missing from my more recent ex. And sadly he did start getting hansy and tried to kiss me. It was gross and awkward. So choose carefully who you ask!

It's selfish. You want your cake and to eat it too. You want affection, puppy love, but you don't want to give him sex or open yourself up to a relationship. It's exploiting his kindness, and probable feelings for you, to get what you need and then reward him with a swift kick to the dick.

If he's good enough to cuddle, he's good enough for you to date. If he isn't, don't tease/lead him on and ruin the friendship.
