My daughter and I are heading to Algonquin Provincial Park with the pup and hiking on of the 7 hour trails. Take some bread, cheese, our fishing rods and see if we can get a brook trout for lunch.

I think it will be a great day. I'm also heading up to see my Dad and Mum next week. I bought him a new ATV trailer so he can do a little landscaping around the house and restock the wood shed/wood furnace.

Not sure yet, but it involves shopping for boring items, such as Oxy Clean to wash my hats and possibly some Altoids wintergreen mints. There may also be some relaxing involved, as the temperatures are expected to be 10-15 degrees F higher than today.

My father died in 2007. I have no children. I have a step father who is 94 years old and he has been disagreeable for the past 94 years; he issued an ultimatum about Father’s Day and i never upheld to ultimatums, so he decided to not celebrate on Sunday.

Hope you’ll join in a toast at Noon on Sunday to all the dads who have passed on. A few of my friends and I started the tradition when our dads/granddads passed and have maintained it for about 20 years now.

Mine passed a while back. Just going to church, then the cemetery to put flowers and a toast to all the dads passed sometime around noon. :)

Thanks. (It was sort of a tough, emotional weekend for me. A few close friends insisted I not mope over a recent breakup situation and ended up kidnapping me to a bbq afterwards, lol.) Hope you were able to spend quality time with your dad. :)
