Should I pay for my husband's family vacation?

Ok so we were talking about going to the beach with his family. I looked up activities to do there in case the in-laws want to do anything else besides what they do every year there ( chill at the beach, go to the mall, chill at the hotel). It'll be me this time along with my husband his mom, step dad, his younger brothers (17,15) and sister (19). I never been so I'm excited. I pitched in some money for the stay. So I brought up activities to my husband and he said "we should pay for them to do things too because they already paid for the hotel". I'm like what, we pitched in too for the hotel, I don't think it's fair to pay everyone's way for different activities when the parents make enough to pay their way too.

Maybe you have had different experiences growing up, but when I think of what they sacrificed so I should have a great life, I wouldn't think twice about paying for my parents!

Also, it isn't whether or not they can afford it. It is just what I feel is the right thing to do. I realise I am speaking for myself here, but maybe your hubby feels the same?

Probably, but I feel if we do pay I'd pay for the siblings to do things. Unless their parents come then I feel they should pay for them

Let me ask you something.. If you said to your husband, ok lets pay SOMETHING towards your parents holiday, it doesn't have to be all or even half.. just something to make him feel he's giving something back to them.. would you both be ok with that?
The bottom line is, you want to have a great time, not ruin it by arguing about who pays what.

I did pay something for their hotel. I don't know we'll see.

Well whatever you both decide.. I reiterate, don't let it spoil the holiday.. Too many people do. Oh and if you cannot resolve it before? Tell him you'll discuss it when you get home!! Have a great time..

If you pitched in an equal share for the hotel, you're right. If you paid less than you should have, then you're wrong. Simple math, but I'm guessing the numbers are more on your side.

no, you should not have to pay for them, they can either pay, or budget for the next trip.

They should pay for extra activities on their part. You already did a kind gesture by contributing to joint accommodations.
