Does anyone else have the battle of the thermostat w/ their family? I'm just tired of it and w/ solar the electric is 85% free for me! Solutions?

What do you keep it at in summer and winter? We fight over AC from 70° to 74° in summer and 67° to 72° in winter.

Yes. I still fight over heat & AC. I'll never stop.

My mom always wants to keep it at 78 because she says the bills come too high

My brother always goes and puts it down to 74 and I’m freeeeezing!

So when I’m sleeping and it wakes me up I’m so mad and annoyed but I have to get up to go turn it off because I’m so cold and can’t sleep then I’m waking up either because im too cold or to pee! Because it’s too cold. It’s awful I get not good sleep

my mom blames both my brother and me saying we both turn it down and I say nope! I’m the one that turns it off! But I’ve algo caught my mom putting it down to 74 and 76 which is why I stopped turning it off because I told her I saw her a couple of times lowering it so it’s always her and my brother but she wants to say it’s me and my brother just so she can be angry about the bill to both of us but it’s them.

if it were for me I rather sleep in warmth. Sure some days in the summer it does get too hot and in certain days we can lower it but not so much because even in the hottest days when they lower it so much it’s not comfortable and I have to sleep with sweaters and sweats and 2 covers.

I wish I had tried harder in life to have enough money to get my own place and not have to deal with this.

Get a smart thermostat that way you can control it from your phone and not need to get out of bed! I don't know where you're located but MANY utility companies are offering basically free smart thermostats with the rebates. I wish you luck in getting out from thermostat jail!

Those temps are wild in my opinion. 78 in the summer, 68 in the winter. And I still pay $500 a month for utilities. I'd have to have a half acre of panels to cover 85% of that. We don't fight though. We just dress differently.

We had separate radiators in different rooms so I could control my own heating. My mom would get pissed if I used it too much but in general I was pretty free.
