Its way too hot in my house, how can I cool off enough to sleep when AC isn't cutting it?

Already have a bunch of fans, AC is the highest BTU that the outlet can handle, already have high load in other rooms. I need ideas that are a bit more clever than the obvious things..

Wear minimal clothing and sleep outside the covers, on top of the bed. You can try having a fan blow over the bed (but not directly on you) with a pan of water in front of the fan. The blown moisture will feel a bit cooler. You can even put some ice in the water if you want.

If you have ceiling fans, but them in reverse. I have them in every room and it works very well, although not as well as AC.

Reverse is usually counterclockwise but if it isn't on your fan, set it so that the blades rotate. Counterclockwise when looked at from the top.

I had an app called "rain rain" that played ocean sounds to put me to sleep. One of the options was rainstorm. I found that when I played rainstorm, I felt physically colder.
Also, fans.

why would you want a small rechargble fan when you can have a big chorded fan that never needs recharging and cools you better?

Cause it's small so I can comfortably have it in bed with me. I'm already fast alseep when it dies.

I have 3 large fans next to my bed and an AC in my room, all running 24/7, and its still over 80 degrees in here. I can't see a small fan doing anything, and needing to recharge seems like a design flaw.
