My sister had a half paralyzed dog, he was not doing good a month leading up to his demise. My daughter had her party the day the dog died, I think he died early in the morning. And my daughters party was in the afternoon. Anyway, my sister didn’t say anything cause she didn’t want to “bring down” the party. My sister was smiling and laughing with family, bit odd when you just lost your dog? That’s some weird ass behavior to me. Why didn’t she tell us he died that day? Why did she wait till a day after to tell us making a fb post. Her reasoning was she didn’t want to take away from my daughter’s party, and didn’t want the attention on her. It’s just fucking weird to me, she called her dog her baby. But if my baby died I would’ve been out all day crying. I guess he was dealing with health issues, and wasn’t doing good that day so she expected him to pass.

That poor dog, sorry you had a psycho narcissistic mom for an owner.

It must have been hard for her to put on a happy face when she just put her dog down. I don't think that's psychopathic at all. She was thinking about your daughter and didn't want to ruin her birthday, that was sweet of her. I think if she went to the party crying and making it all about her would have been much worse for your daughter. She must think a lot of your daughter having to put a happy face on when she probably really didn't feel like it.

Not necessarily. Some people grieve differently and considering the party was for your daughter it sounds appropiate that they didn't make it about their issues. She might have been trying not to think about the dog.
